Bubble Rock

Children’s Concerte

Mission Statement
The mission is to provide the highest quality, professional programming which encourages and supports the growth and sustainability of early literacy education. This mission is achieved through hands–on teacher workshops that focus on shared reading through familiar children’s music as part of a curriculum-based balanced literacy program. The culmination of this program is attendance at a concert, providing the children with an opportunity to integrate through music the literacy skills which they have learned.

Parent and Teacher Training

Teacher and parent education has been difficult to find in underserved communities because the necessary strong economic base is missing. Grants and donations to Bubble Rock fund on–site education focused on shared reading through familiar children’s music as part of a curriculum–based literacy program. Hands–on activities are provided and CDs or books are given to the attendees.

Programs and Services
Bubble Rock Productions, Inc. has been producing field trip children’s concerts in the greater Los Angeles area for more than 16 years. Over 200,000 children and their teachers and caregivers have attended these concerts and as many as 15% of those in attendance have been special needs children. Grant money and donations have been used to broaden the availability of these programs so that additional children with special needs are able to come to a safe, nurturing environment which provides successful experiences for them.

Beginning in 2005, Bubble Rock inaugurated a new series of summer concerts at the South Coast Botanic Garden, geared specifically for children and families. The series continues as an annual event. In addition to listening to wonderful music, attendees have the opportunity to tour the garden, picnic and participate in children oriented activities. Over 200 complimentary tickets are set aside each year for children and families who might not otherwise be able to attend the concerts. Tickets where made available to shelters, special needs organizations and other worthy groups.
